GAUGE:
23 sts x 28 rows = 10 x 10 cm in colorwork with 3.5 mm needles
24 sts x 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm in stockinette stitch with 3 mm needles
RECOMMENDED YARN:
WillaWanttuut Martta wool yarn, 100% Finnish native breed wool (185 m / 100 g) or
Novita 7 Veljestä, 80% wool, 20% Polyamide (200 m = 100 g)
YARN REQUIREMENTS:
Main color: 100 (110) 120 g WillaWanttuut Martta yarn or at least 185 (200) 220 m of other DK/Aran weight sock yarn
Contrast color: 30 g WillaWanttuut Martta yarn or at least 55 m of other DK/Aran weight sock yarn
TECHNIQUES:
Socks are knitted top-down (cuff to toe) using the Magic Loop method. The birch grove pattern on the cuff is knitted in colorwork using knit and purl stitches.
The socks feature a reinforced French heel and a wide wedge toe.
