Inspired by a fern species growing on rocks called Maidenhair Spleenwort, this sock pattern pairs beautifully with the Raunioiset Cowl. The material chosen for the socks is domestic, ultra-soft Finnsheep wool sock yarn.

SOCK MEASUREMENTS:
leg height 12 (12) cm, foot length 24-25 (25-26) cm, foot width 9.5 (10.5) cm
SUPPLIES:
2.5 mm circular needles, at least 80 cm long
1 cable needle
11 stitch markers
tapestry needle for weaving in ends
GAUGE: 27 sts x 40 rows = 10 x 10 cm in stockinette stitch with 2.5 mm needles
YARN:
Sport weight wool or merino wool yarn
Recommended: domestic WillaWanttuut Aino sock yarn,
80% Finnsheep wool, 20% nylon (100 g = 350 m)
YARN CONSUMPTION:
80 (90) g of recommended yarn or at least 280 (315) m of other Sport weight yarn
TECHNIQUES:
The socks are knitted toe-up using the Magic Loop technique. The texture consists of garter stitch and slipped stitches.
The Raunioiset pattern is knitted on top as a cable. The socks feature a reinforced French heel and a wedge toe.
The cuff is finished with an I-cord bind-off.
