SIZES: XS-S (M-L) correspond to sizes 6-7 (8-9)
Finished mitten measurements: total length 29 (31) cm, from base of thumb to tip 13 (15) cm, palm circumference 22 (24) cm, thumb length 6 (7) cm
MATERIALS:
3.5 mm Magic Loop needle 80 cm
1 auxiliary needle/cable needle
2 stitch markers
blunt needle for finishing
GAUGE: 24 sts x 38 rows = 10 x 10 cm in reinforced pattern stitch on 3.5 mm needles
YARN:
DK weight wool or alpaca yarn.
Recommended domestic wool yarns: Jalovilla Uuhi 230 m/100 g and Jalovilla Räsy 220 m/100 g
YARN USAGE:
80 (90) g of recommended yarn or at least 190 (210) m of other DK weight yarn
The pattern uses a twisted cable knit for the Silmu pattern on the back of the hand and a reinforced knit for the palm.
If you don’t want shaping in your mittens, replace the reinforced pattern stitch with plain stockinette stitch.
